Zeal Optics is bringing purpose to holiday shopping with the return of its annual “Buy A Zeal, Plant A Tree” initiative. From November 16 through December 31, Zeal will donate a portion of every sunglass sold to its tree-planting partners across the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Since launching the program in 2016, “Buy A Zeal, Plant A Tree” has planted 74,411 trees, helping restore forests and improve ecosystem health. Based on U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency greenhouse gas equivalency data, these trees are estimated to sequester ~44,200 metric tons of CO₂ over their lifetime. Actual sequestration varies based on species, climate and maturity, but the environmental impact is already significant, helping clean the air, rebuild habitats, and support healthier ecosystems for generations to come.
The initiative supports localized reforestation projects that help restore ecosystems, improve forest health and protect the places Zeal’s community loves to explore. Whether purchasing online or through retail partners, every Zeal sunglass purchased contributes to planting trees where they’re needed most including with the National Forest Foundation in the U.S., Tree Canada in Canada, Planet Ark in Australia and Tree Nation across Europe and the U.K.
