Half-Tone – refers to the small dots that make up an image. It’s all these small parts that make up the visual whole.
For the first time ever, surf brand TCSS (The Critical Slide Society), are set to launch a cross season collection that will be available simultaneously in stores around the globe.
This Global collection titled ‘Half-Tone,’ will mean that customers internationally will be able to purchase product that they see on social media, the web or print in their local market.
What does this mean? Convenience for customers, brand trust and ability to get their hands on product communicated on Instagram from anywhere in the world. In the rapidly growing world of social media, customers want immediate access to product, and ‘Half-Tone’ means they can have it. TCSS have previously worked on a seasonal calendar for all their product releases. Being very in tune with responding to their customers needs, they recognised what significant change this would create to their business, to release the collection at the same time across the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Sam Coombes, Co-Founder and Managing Director of TCSS says ‘digital communication channels, namely the web and social media has led to our customer being aware of exactly what product is available at any one time in whatever store and more importantly hemisphere. By shifting our dates we’re able to support our stores better, ensure customers are able to get their hands on the newest styles and from our perspective we have one consistent message going out about the brand and product.’ Half-Tone Spring/Fall 16 is a line comprised of both boardshorts through to knits and puffer Jackets. It’s a cross-season line.
Since their humble beginnings in 2009, when the brand was launched on the Central Coast of NSW, The Critical Slide Society have established and grown a community, spawned from a love of creativity and surfing.
The nature of their designs make them different from any other brand in the industry and the new collection builds on what they are famous for – highly coveted t-shirts and boardies, plus so much more.
Half-Tone introduces several new developments into the line and some reinventions of classic TCSS styles.
Sam Coombes says, ‘We had about 6 months of work that needed to be completed in 3 months, there was some serious catchup to get to this place, we’re stoked on the result. We have introduced new fabrics, some new silhouettes and we’ve managed to merge a Winter and Fall line really successfully. I love the addition of Brodie Jackson’s artwork. I’m really looking forward to sharing the line with our stores and the end customer.”
Contributors to ‘Half-Tone’ are artist, Brodie Jackson and Sydney based Illustrator Georgia Hill, who together bring their own vibe to the range.
TCSS has just returned from showing the line at Agenda in Long Beach and Miami. TCSS Half- Tone will be available to view in the following countries: USA (Mainland and Hawaii), Australia New Zealand, UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea & Indonesia.
