Votes will be collected starting today through Sept. 3 in all 25 of Active’s retail stores with the top schools in each of four districts collecting $25,000 for their school sports program.

California schools continue to face funding challenges and sports programs are typically some of the first to suffer from budget constraints. Athletic programs notoriously rely on fundraising and with budgets continuing to tighten, public schools fight to keep sports affordable – if they can keep them at all.
