Tilly’s Chief Merchandising Officer Tricia Smith, who came to the company from Nordstrom in Sept. 2019, is departing the company, Tilly’s reported Tuesday afternoon.
She is leaving to pursue a new opportunity, the company said.
Tilly’s executives had sung Tricia’s praises since her arrival, including her push to shift Tilly’s to a digital-first approach when it came to merchandising.
That’s created more focus on e-commerce, and Tilly’s online assortments have expanded. Under her leadership, Tilly’s has added new categories that they would probably not have done in the past because they were too conservative, Tilly’s CEO Ed Thomas previously said.
She has also brought new brands to Tilly’s, including BDG from Urban Outfitters, Nike Women’s, RVCA Sport, Fjallraven and several skate brands.
Her last day at Tilly’s is March 19.
