Well known industry veteran Vicki Redding, currently Vans VP of Apparel, is retiring at the end of this month, SES has learned.
Vicki got her start working the floor at Nordstrom, where she eventually became a buyer, and then moved to Quiksilver, DC and the La Jolla Group before joining Vans. Vicki has overseen explosive growth in Vans apparel since she joined the company in 2012.
Vans has not yet disclosed any organizational changes in light of her departure, a spokesperson said.
Vicki sent us the following statement about her upcoming retirement.
“Throughout my 35-plus years in the industry, I have been so blessed to work for amazing brands with incredibly talented people. I have made lifelong friends and wonderful memories that I hold near and dear to my heart.”
“As I close out my time at Vans, I will be forever grateful for what the nearly nine years has gifted me and I truly could not imagine a better way to end my career. I leave knowing the brand has a passionate, dedicated and talented team in place that will continue to carry the torch and accomplish great things for Vans’ apparel and accessories business.”
“As I start my next journey, I look forward to travelling, spending time with family and friends and most importantly giving back to the community. I will also stay connected to this amazing industry that I love!”
