To celebrate Duke Kahanamoku’s influence on East Coast Surfing, and in recognition of Duke’s 2018 induction into the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame, New Jersey’s Mike “Miggs” Migliorisi contracted master craftsman Bill Simon to build a replica of Duke’s famous surfboard to donate to the Hall of Fame. This “Alaia” plank is 10 feet long, 23” wide and 3” thick, and is made of a single piece of 100% naturally felled, old growth curly redwood. It is an exact replica of a Duke Kahanamoku surfboard acquired by the Duke Estate.

Pictured from left to right, are Mike “Miggs” Migliorisi, ECSHOF President Gary Germain, and ECSHOF Founding President and current President Emeritus, Cecil Lear.
