Dakine is relaunching its fish category, Dakine Fish, with fish bags, tackle storage, gloves and headwear for saltwater and freshwater fishing under Dakine’s long term licensee JR286.
According to Dakine Surf Marketing Manager Micah Nickens, Dakine has been in the fishing category in a limited way since the 1980s in targeted accounts in Hawaii and California.
Now, Dakine has revamped the category and some of its key products with new technology and features to accommodate full-day excursions, pond hopping and off-shore fishing, Micah said.
“This line was inspired by local Hawaiian anglers that spend their days on the coast moving from one fishing spot to another. From there, our goal was to create a product line that not only tailored to the needs of the coastal angler, but to all anglers looking for trusted and durable gear on any fishing excursion,” he said.
The aim is to introduce a comprehensive line to the “huge fishing market,” he said.
Products include:
Ulua 60L Fish Pack (MSRP $330), designed for surf anglers with a built-in cooler for fish and pockets for gear organization during all-day trips.
The Mission Fish Pack 40L (MSRP $200) and Mission Fish Waist Pack (MSRP $150), built for pond hopping, wade fishing and other shore-based angling.
The Freestanding Fish Bag (MSRP $355-$440) and Flat Fish Bag ($385-$460) with ice retention and durability for tournament anglers and compact boat captains who need additional fish storage.
The 12L Lure Locker (MSRP $30) provides divided and breathable storage for trolling lures and leaders
And the Fish Full Finger Glove (MSRP $40) and Fish Open Finger Glove (MSRP $34).
The new fishing product will be sold in wholesale accounts, wholesale websites and at Dakine.com.
Dakine is owned by Marquee Brands. Other brands in the company’s portfolio include Body Glove, Ben Sherman, BCBG Generation, Martha Stewart, Sur La Table, and others.
