We stopped by the Bungalow Tradeshow in Huntington Beach Wednesday to see industry swim brands and retailers. The show is put on by Debby Martin, the Director of Sales for L*Space.
Brands that exhibited at Bungalow included Maaji, Hurley, Brixton, Z Supply, Slowtide, Rhythm, Rip Curl, Vitamin A, Thrills, PQ and more.
Overall, we heard the swim season has gotten off to a slow start – Debby theorized customers bought so much swim during the pandemic that they may be spending on other apparel categories.
The hope is that it turns into a buy now, wear now situation and sales turn on before retailers feel the need to discount.
We saw lots of industry people at the show, including the daughters of several well-known people in surf who were working at the show including Piper Biolos, the daughter of famous shaper Matt Biolos; Bree Saenz, the daughter of Chris Saenz who worked at HSS for years; and Kylie Yoshida, the daughter of Ron Yoshida who has worked at wide range of industry brands and retailers including HIC, Town & Country, Mucho Aloha and others.
Below, we have photos of who we saw at Bungalow.
