Update: Bobby Goodwin’s new job is with Vans as vice president, DTC merchandising for Americas.
Well-known industry retail veteran Bobby Goodwin, currently senior vice president and general merchandise manager at Tilly’s, is leaving the company for a new opportunity, according to a Tilly’s SEC filing Tuesday. His last day at Tilly’s is January 27, and a search is underway for his replacement.
Bobby is very familiar with industry brands because he has worked at several large retailers that carry action sports and surf-inspired merchandise.
He joined Tilly’s in 2020 as senior vice president of men’s, boys’, and outdoor. He was promoted to his current position in March 2021.
Bobby worked at skateboard-focused Active Ride Shop early in his career. He then moved to PacSun, where he worked for nearly a decade, rising to the position of vice president of men’s merchandising.
Tilly’s has experienced turnover in its merchandise leadership team since the departure of the company’s longtime merchandise leader Debbie Anker-Morris.
Her replacement, Tricia Smith, who came from Nordstrom in the fall of 2019, departed for the big opportunity of becoming CEO of Anthropologie in early 2021.
