The Danny Kwock Family Foundation has partnered with US Board Riders Clubs to fund the Danny Kwock Family Foundation Scholarship Program, it was announced today by Don Meek, board chair of US Board Riders Clubs.
“Danny called about 6 months ago to say that he had heard really good things about our board riders’ movement, and after a great lunch together talking about the origins of the surf industry, he graciously offered to make a donation to fund a scholarship program” said Meek in making the announcement. “This year we will be able to offer a $5,000 scholarship to each of the seven clubs that qualify for the US Board Riders National Championship presented by A New Earth Project taking place at Lower Trestles on Saturday May 27th” he concluded.
“I love surfing and am stoked to see the way the US Board Riders Clubs are uniting the beach towns where surfing is such an important part of these communities,” said Kwock. “It is an honor to be able to make a humble contribution to this organization and give kids an opportunity to further their educations.”
To date 4 clubs have qualified for the event—Monmouth County Board Riders from New Jersey, Outer Banks Board Riders from the Mid Atlantic, and Space Coast and Jacksonville Board Riders from Florida. The remaining three clubs will qualify via the upcoming WCBR Wheat Cup Championship taking place at Lower Trestles May 25-26.
