Design, product development, sourcing, planning, and private label executives from several well-known brands are attending the Outdoor Design + Innovation (ODI) show next month in Salt Lake City, Utah.
ODI will be co-located with Outdoor Retailer at the Salt Palace Convention Center June 17-19. Together, the two events allow attendees to discover the newest releases across all stages of product development and launch.
In addition to sourcing having a dedicated show, there’s another big change this year: Outdoor Retailer has launched a hosted buyer program to help offset travel costs for product developers from top-tier companies who attend ODI and schedule meetings with sourcing exhibitors.
“We have implemented a strategic plan designed to enhance attendance,” said ODI Show Director Trish Concannon. “Our goal is to bring an elevated experience to both exhibitors and attendees, providing a platform for valuable connections to be made, driving growth and innovation in the outdoor products industry.”
Brands with product developers and designers that have registered to attend ODI to meet with sourcing exhibitors include:
- Academy Sports
- Dick’s Sporting Goods
- Amazon
- Eddie Bauer
- L.L. Bean
- Black Diamond Equipment
- Burton
- Cotopaxi

The sourcing buyers attending ODI are looking to discover new domestic and international suppliers, meet with existing vendors, and stay on top of manufacturing and development trends.
ODI exhibitors represent all areas of the supply chain for outdoor apparel and gear, including soft goods and hardgoods, and come from a wide range of countries, including the U.S., Canada, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea.

“The launch of Outdoor Design + Innovation (ODI) as a co-located sourcing show aligns with Outdoor Retailer’s (OR) commitment to enhancing the event experience for both exhibitors and attendees,” Concannon said. “We’re creating an ecosystem where private label retailers and brand product development teams can seamlessly navigate the entire supply chain.”
