Industry brands have gotten into the Black Friday spirit today by offering discounts – in some cases steep discounts – to shoppers.
This holiday season is expected to be very promotional, with many traditional retailers offering deep markdowns even before Black Friday got underway.
As far as industry brands, Katin offered one of the biggest markdowns, with its entire site 50% off, including sale goods.
Quiksilver, Roxy and DC were 40% off site-wide, including wetsuits, but excluding full price snow goods.
Hurley was 30% off site-wide, excluding Phantom boardshorts and regularly priced wetsuits.
O’Neill Clothing was 30% off everything site-wide.
Volcom was offering a gift with purchase.
Billabong has a spend $50, get 20% off promotion.
Reef was 25% off site-wide.
Sanuk was 25% off select styles.
686 is offering 20% off everything from Nov. 24 to Dec. 1.
Burton is offering 20% off select gear until Dec. 1.
Vans is offering a $15 egift with purchases of $49 and up that can be applied to the next shopping visit.
Etnies is offering 25% off all orders above $50.
Brands like Rip Curl, Vissla, RVCA and Brixton were not offering Black Friday discounts.
As far as industry retailers at the mall, PacSun is offering buy one, get one 50% site-wide until 3 p.m.
Zumiez is offering buy one, get one 50% off on select items, as is Tilly’s.
Active Ride Shop had an early bird special – spend $100 and get $50 Active bucks back to go toward a future purchase. Active also had several exclusive Black Friday products from brands like Huf and Diamond that were not discounted.
Industry competitor Hollister, which has been struggling, offered some of the deepest discounts – 50% off everything online.
