Surfing Heritage and Culture Center (SHACC) will host the U.S. premiere of “Hollywood Don’t Surf,” a documentary film by award-winning writer/director Sam George that was executive produced by legendary filmmaker, Greg MacGillivray.

This exclusive screening, Saturday, September 13th, is a fundraising event for SHACC, which is asking for donations of $20 from SHACC members and $25 from non-members who wish to be a part of this rare evening.

Chronicling 50 years of Hollywood’s attempts to make surf movies, Hollywood Don’t Surf premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. The film features an all-star cast that includes John Milius, Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Frankie Avalon, Nia Peeples, Gary Busey, William Katt, and Jan Michael Vincent.

The evening will include a reception from 7pm to 8pm followed by the screening of the film and a question and answer session hosted by Sam George and the attending cast members. A number of the film’s stars are expected to be present, including Denny Aaberg, Stacy Peralta, Rick Dano, Nia Peeples and William Katt.

Due to the limited seating capacity at SHACC, the event will likely sell out quickly. Those planning to attend are advised to reserve seats by calling 949.388.0313 ext. 0 as soon as possible. SHACC is located at 110 Calle Iglesia, San Clemente, CA 92672.
