In Hawaii we like to “Talk Story.” Talking story can be as simple as bumping into an old friend at the supermarket and catching up, or as elaborate as sharing your life story to a room full of strangers.
On May 23rd Locals, Guests and visitors enjoyed an intimate talk story session with shaping legend Dick Brewer at Turtle Bay’s hangout: Surfer, The Bar. His skills helped shape the lives of surfing legends including Eddie Aikau, Gerry Lopez and many others. Dick Brewer changed the way we ride waves with his designs and he also changed the realm of waves that can be ridden. For those of you who missed the inside story of one of surfing’s most important characters, all you have to do is hit play.
Our Talk Story Series hosted by Jodi Wilmott picks up again June 20th with master free diver, artist and Patagonia Ambassador Kimi Werner. Kimi recently made news around the world for catching a ride on a great white shark’s dorsal fin. I can’t wait to hear the story behind that epic adventure!
