Weak apparel sales hurt Zumiez results in July. Same-store sales fell 1.4 percent for one of the action sports industry’s biggest customers.
Strong sales in footwear and skate hard goods were offset by weakness in accessories, juniors apparel, men’s apparel and boy’s apparel.
Comp stores sales by week:
1 – up 0.2 percent
2 – down 2.3 percent
3 – up 0.6 percent
4 – down 3.6 percent
For the second quarter, comp store sales declined 1. 7 percent. Year to date, comp store sales declined 1.3 percent.
