I drove to the Tehachapi at the end of last week for the International Association of Skateboarding Companies Industry Summit.

IASC SummitLunch on the last day of the IASC Summit.

The three-day event included a keynote address from Kevin Lyman, creator of the Warped Tour, several panels on topics such as financial planning and banking, professional skateboarding contests, and tips on preparing, thriving and surviving in a down economy and lots of eating, drinking and mingling.

The overall mood was upbeat – there wasn’t a lot of doom and gloom talk going on. A few company leaders told me their March numbers had been decent and while they said it was too early to call it a trend, it was a least a positive sign.

I really enjoyed getting to know more people in the skateboard industry and plan to write more about skate in the future.

Here are some photos from the summit.
