Quiksilver Inc. eliminated approximately 20 jobs in the Americas this week, which the company described as a realignment of resources as it finalizes 2012 budgets.

Quiksilver employs about 6,000 people around the world.

The goal is to ensure Quiksilver is operating as efficiently as possible, the company said.

Each year around this time the company makes minor adjustments in its organizational layout. Quiksilver, however, is still hiring in other areas of the business and has a solid five-year growth plan in place, the company said.
