LSpace has debuted a summer pop-up shop at Newport Beach’s highly curated Lido Marina Village in what marks the brand’s first standalone retail outpost.
The Lido Marina space soft opened June 2 with a grand opening event set for June 10.
The door follows a shop-in-shop LSpace had before the pandemic at Fashion Island, which featured its swim and apparel assortment.
Lido Marina will have the full range of LSpace’s second collaboration with lifestyle and fashion blogger Hanna Montazami, which includes bikinis, one-piece swimsuits, cover-ups, skirts, and tops retailing for between $79 and $198.
“Lido Marina is such a beautiful space, with such great brands,” LSpace Vice President of Creative and Design Alissa Bristow said. “It was really important for us to be surrounded by (similar) brands as we moved into our first retail experience.”
LSpace’s store sits between Pacific Palisades boutique retailer and designer Elyse Walker and Lido Village Books. Other nearby tenants include Cynthia Rowley, Cos Bar, and The RealReal.
“They have such elevated brands that fit perfectly with our effortless chic, elevated vibe,” Bristow went on to say of Lido Marina.
Retail Test Kitchen
Testing LSpace retail allows the brand to show its full range, underscoring its growth beyond swimwear.
“Part of being a lifestyle brand is having a space where we can showcase what it is that we do,” Bristow said.
Outside of the Montazami collaboration, the store will tout bestsellers across LSpace swimwear, apparel, and activewear.
LSpace launched activewear about two years ago and it continues to gain fans, according to Bristow.
“It grows in momentum season after season,” she said. “Every season we do events around our activewear and it’s becoming an influencer favorite.”
One-pieces and dresses within the activewear category have been popular among consumers.
Meanwhile, knit dresses, such as the Mara ($139 at retail) and Nico ($125), have also been fast movers for LSpace and the category has allowed the brand to broaden the overall assortment, Bristow added.
The LSpace pop-up will be open through the summer with the brand considering the possibility of making the space permanent.
“This is our first experience in retail with an LSpace store and so this is a test kitchen for how we might want our permanent retail space to be,” Bristow said.
