OOFOS, the original recovery footwear brand, today announced the appointment of Scott Schiffres as Chief Financial Officer and the addition of Tom George and David A. Pace to its Board of Directors. The appointments bring decades of experience across global consumer brands, finance, footwear, sports, brand strategy and business development as OOFOS enters its next chapter of growth.
“We are fortunate to welcome Scott, Tom and David at an important point in OOFOS’ journey,” said Lou Panaccione, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of OOFOS. “Each brings a unique perspective and depth of experience that will strengthen our leadership team and Board. Their expertise across consumer brands, finance, footwear, sports and business development will be incredibly valuable as we continue to build OOFOS for the future while staying true to what makes our brand and product unique.”
Schiffres joins OOFOS as CFO following more than 25 years of experience across global consumer brands and high-growth businesses. Most recently, he served as CFO and Interim General Manager of Tea Forté, part of Keurig / JDE Peet’s, where he led across finance, commercial, supply chain and operations. Previously, Schiffres held CFO and senior finance leadership roles at Heineken and served as CFO and COO of Unreal Candy, helping build the infrastructure to scale the emerging consumer brand. He began his career at Unilever and holds a BA from Colgate University.
“I’ve always been most energized working for brands that I believe in, and OOFOS is a brand that resonates with me, as both an executive and a consumer,” said Schiffres. “OOFOS pioneered the recovery footwear category, and as recovery and wellness have become increasingly important to consumers, the opportunity has expanded well beyond post-workout recovery. OOFOS has a rare combination of meaningful innovation, a differentiated consumer experience and an authentic purpose. I’m excited to join this team and help build on the opportunity ahead.”
Schiffres succeeds Tom George, who has served as OOFOS’ interim CFO and will continue with the company as a member of its Board of Directors and Audit Committee. George brings more than 40 years of executive experience, including 34 years as a CFO and 27 years as a public company CFO. He has held leadership roles across technology and consumer brands, including serving as CFO of Oakley, Deckers Brands, and Genesco where he gained significant experience in global brands, multi-channel growth and public company financial management.
Joining George on the Board is David A. Pace, a veteran consumer and sports industry executive with more than 35 years of experience. Pace spent almost two decades at Reebok, serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel and previously leading Sports Marketing. During his tenure, he played a key role in the development of Reebok’s global brand strategy and major initiatives including the company’s exclusive NFL and NBA licensing agreements, creation of its sports licensing business and merger with adidas. Following Reebok, Pace founded Pace Sports LLC, advising leading consumer brandsand sports organizations, including OOFOS, the NFL, Tommy Bahama and UGG, on strategic initiatives spanning brand partnerships, acquisitions, licensing and business development.
“OOFOS has a unique position in the footwear industry, built on innovation that delivers a meaningful difference consumers can feel,” said Angel Martinez, Co-CEO of OOFOS. “As consumer interest in recovery, wellness and everyday comfort continues to grow, we see tremendous opportunity to introduce more people to OOFOS and expand the role our products play in their lives. Drawing on the collective expertise of Scott, Tom and David will help us capitalize on these opportunities and drive sustainable, long-term growth.”
Together, the leadership appointments add significant experience as OOFOS continues to expand its position at the intersection of recovery, wellness and everyday comfort. Founded in 2011, OOFOS pioneered the recovery footwear category with its proprietary OOfoam™ technology and has continued to evolve its product offering as consumers increasingly look for products that help them feel good throughout their everyday lives. As the company approaches its 15-year anniversary, OOFOS remains focused on its mission to make people feel good while building on the product innovation, consumer connection and purpose that have defined the brand since its founding.
