<p>Price promotions appear to be the name of the game this holiday season. Manufacturers are sitting on too much inventory and are slashing wholesale prices for retailers. And retailers are sitting on too much inventory, and are slashing prices to attract shoppers.</p> <p>The price free-for-all applies to nearly every consumer-related industry, not just action sports.</p> <p>The discounts are so steep, I began to wonder if consumers are being trained to expect those lower prices from now on, and what that could mean for both brands and retailers in the action sports space.</p>
