Digging into the details of February comps: some surprises

We charted the February and historical performance over the past year of several teen retailers and grouped them into two categories: better and poorer performers. We also charted which retailers beat Wall Street expectations this month, and which fell short. That helps sort out the surprises, both good and bad.

The Buckle greatly surpassed estimates as did other retailers in the green chart shown above. In the four department stores we examined, JC Penney was the only one that beat Wall Street's same-store sales consensus estimates.
