Zumiez plans for slow growth

Zumiez executives see a permanent shift in how consumers shop and buy, and so the company has shifted how it will grow.

Its five-year forecast now calls for a top store count of 600-700, down from the 800 level it projected a year ago.

The focus of that pullback will be in metropolitan areas that are “over-malled,” CEO Rick Brooks said today during his presentation at the ICR XChange investors conference.
