Bulgari at South Coast Plaza

Orange County shoppers have shown their love for Bulgari over the years. The Italian luxury jewelry maker started with a 700-square-foot store at South Coast Plaza in 1994. The company now occupies 2,600 square feet with the debut of a new accessories shop this month.

Bulgari has two connecting “twin” stores side-by-side. The new shop carries Bulgari purses, ties, wallets, sunglasses, fragrances and briefcases, including $2,500 evening bags and $7,000 handbags. For those with less disposable income, an entry line of wallets starts at $180.

From what I’m hearing, Orange County shoppers have not disappointed. A source tells me as soon as the doors opened at the new accessories store, goods were flying off the shelves.

I guess some people aren’t impacted by the housing slump.
