Coming off the weekend, I have a few quick hits to get the week rolling.
First, here’s our favorite Orange County skateboarding king on the red carpet in Hollywood last week. Pierre André Senizergues of Sole Technology in Lake Forest and girlfriend Sara Sheen, above, hit the premiere of “The 11th Hour,” Leonardo DiCaprio’s new documentary about the environment. Pierre, whose company is best known for making Etnies skateboard shoes, was an executive producer on the film. Click here for more info.
Buckle opened at the Irvine Spectrum Center. The store carries lots of Orange County brands: Roxy, Hurley, Quiksilver, Volcom and Billabong in addition to Lucky, Guess and Miss Me denim, among others. The Nebraska-based chain has 362 stores in 38 states. At the Spectrum, Buckle is near the Oakley “O” store.

We all know South Coast Plaza is the best place to buy Italian luxury goods in Orange County. Now, the Italian government seems to agree. South Coast Plaza and the Italian Trade Commission team up in October to celebrate Italian fashion, food and culture. The festival will include food and beverage samplings, exhibits of Italian fashion, culture and art, a display of Italian shoes featured in films, and a photography show. The event kicks off October 4.
