New PacSun CEO: One tough cookie

I had a great interview with Sally Frame Kasaks, a retail industry heavyweight who is now CEO of PacSun, the teen clothing chain based in Anaheim.

What she had to say was so interesting I had to break into a two-part column for OC METRO. The first column explores her background and is out now. The second explains her plans for PacSun and how it could impact OC surf companies. It publishes Aug. 16.

Let’s just say this: Sally isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She didn’t need this job and has competed in the retail trenches for years. All that experience empowers her to take bold steps at PacSun and really shake things up.

Her take on the OC surf brands that fill PacSun stores is quite interesting.

Here’s a link to the first column.
