I’m kicking off a new feature today. I’ll ask well-known people in Orange County to share where they like to eat and why.
Aaron Pai is the owner of four Huntington Surf & Sport stores, including the iconic HSS at PCH and Main Street in Huntington. HSS is hugely influential in the surf industry. All the brands want to be in his stores.
Here’s Aaron telling about his two favorite restaurants:
1. The Sugar Shack, 213 Main Street, HB.
I like the Sugar Shack because they serve great food and always have great service. Michele Turner (owner) does a lot for the surfers and the community and she is always there along with her famous surfer sons, Timmy and Ryan. All the locals eat at this place.

2.Esther’s Place, 6789 Warner Ave., HB, next to the Huntington Beach Post Office.
I like it because I am very much into living a healthy lifestyle and Esther’s Place always has great healthy food and great service. Esther is always working behind the counter and she really does an amazing job making every customer feel very special. I consider Esther’s Place one of Huntington Beach’s hidden secrets and that is another reason why I like it so much. Up until this article breaks, there really hasn’t been any massive crowds at the counter. … Uh-oh, maybe I shouldn’t let you know about this one!
