People crowded into Fernando and Vicky Aguerre’s ocean front home in La Jolla Friday night for the Liquid Nation party and auction.
The event raised an estimated $230,000 for the SIMA Humanitarian Fund, which will donate proceeds to 14 surf-related social and humanitarian non-profit organizations that work in areas such as spinal cord injuries, breast cancer education, malaria prevention, at-risk youth, mental health and autism.
Dr. Dave Jenkins received the first ever SIMA Humanitarian of the year award at the event. Dr. Dave, left, is the CEO and inspiration behind SurfAid International and is well known for his work with the Mentawai people
