Frank Messman is the new CEO and partner at Black Box. Frank previously ran Sole Tech’s European business in addition to other jobs in the industry. He is also a IASC board member, hails from Denmark and is very interesting to talk to if you ever get the chance.

Black Box Distribution announces that Frank Messmann joins Black Box as partner and Chief Executive
Officer. Frank Messmann partnered with Black Box last year to create Black Box Europe and will now
make the move to the US to work at Black Box global headquarters in Carlsbad, California.
Originally from Denmark, Frank has held several roles of increasing responsibility in the skateboard
industry during the 20 years since his days as a professional skateboarder. Based in California from
1994-2003 he was an early partner in, and CEO of, Dwindle Distribution and World Industries, he has
also held European General Management positions at Powell Corp, DC Shoes and Sole Technology.
“It’s great to work with someone with as much insight and experience as Frank, especially in these
times. It’s also exciting to have the opportunity to focus my full attention on the team and creative
aspects of the company while Frank takes the lead with the business and finance portions. It truly feels
like a great partnership”, said Jamie Thomas, founder and president.
