ASR and BRA enter into a new five-year agreement with increased commitment to business education for specialty retailers
San Juan Capistrano, CA – Action Sports Retailer, ASR, and Board Retailers Association, BRA, renew their joint commitment to specialty retail survival and growth with a new five-year agreement.
The two organizations are making business education the focal point of this partnership including the return of BRA’s Retail Survival Series to future ASR events. The Survivor Series debuted on the west coast last February in San Diego, CA.
“BRA does an incredible job providing assistance and support to specialty retailers,” says Andy Tompkins, VP of ASR. “Since ASR is also focused on providing business solutions for the specialty retail channel, we both have a vested interest in the success of this core retail group. ASR is proud to support BRA in its continued efforts to support specialty retail and a lifestyle.”
Along with the partnership comes BRA’s exclusive endorsement of ASR as the only BRA supported West Coast based trade show. BRA is continuing to encourage all current and prospective BRA members to attend ASR through its website, newsletter and member communications.
“This is truly a symbiotic relationship between ASR and BRA,” says Duke Edukas, BRA Co-Chair and Owner of Surfside Sports. “ASR is essential to our industry’s success as it has been for nearly three decades. Working with ASR will help BRA be even more effective as a resource for shops across the country to learn new concepts, ideas, and business practices that foster growth.”
This August 12th, the BRA Retail Survival Series opens to retailers the day before ASR Marketplace officially starts. Put on by ASR and BRA, the series focuses on practical business education on the most pressing issues facing specialty retail today.
“The BRA Survivor Series hit exactly on what we needed,” Bob Culbertson, Owner of Calavera Board Supply in Prescott, Arizona. “My 27-year-old son needed training in merchandising and I need training in digital retailing.”
