Vipe Desai has left Monster Energy Drink to become TransWorld Media’s senior director of marketing.
Vipe is well known in the action sports industry after founding youth culture consultancy Propaganda Headquarters, Inc., and for his humanitarian work with SIMA, the Surfrider Foundation and the Rob Dyrdek Foundation. Vipe is also the visionary behind Project Blue, which creates co-branded products that give a portion of proceeds to humanitarian causes.
Most recently, he worked as the director of marketing at Monster Energy for a little over a year.
At TransWorld, Vipe will lead the marketing and sales development teams. He will also be responsible for marketing strategies for TransWorld Skateboarding, TransWorld Snowboarding, TransWorld Surf, TransWorld Business, TransWorld Motocross, and Ride BMX.
In addition, he will oversee TransWorld events. He will report to TransWorld Media Group Publisher Liam Ferguson.

With over 18 years of experience in the action sports industry, including retail, non-profit, youth brand consulting, and marketing, Vipe brings TransWorld Media a wealth of talent that will elevate TransWorld’s brand initiatives to the next level. Vipe most recently served as the Director of Marketing for Monster Energy Drink, a multi-billion dollar company and one of the most globally recognizable beverage brands in the industry. Prior to Monster, Vipe owned and operated H20 Surf and Snowboard Shop in Orange County, CA, for nearly eight years and also founded and managed Propaganda, a youth brand-consulting agency since 2000.
In addition to his professional career, Vipe has been a true humanitarian, founding the project BLUE initiative, a brand partnership program that produces premium co-branded products while giving back portions of the proceeds to The Surfrider Foundation and The SIMA Environmental Fund. He also serves as Chairman of the Rob Dyrdek Foundation and as a member of the board of directors for both The Surfrider Foundation and The SIMA Environmental Fund. “I have always loved TransWorld and its vision for the action sports world,” said Vipe. “I am honored to be a part of the team and excited to become a part of this extremely talented group.”
In his role at TransWorld Media, Vipe will be responsible for leading the Marketing and Sales Development teams, creating a cohesive marketing strategy for TransWorld Media’s properties, which include TransWorld SKATEboarding, TransWorld SNOWboarding, TransWorld SURF, TransWorld Business, TransWorld Motocross, and Ride BMX. He will oversee the budgeting, planning, and execution of all TransWorld-owned events, effectively integrating them into the ever-changing new media landscapes.
Vipe will be reporting to TransWorld Media’s Group Publisher, Liam Ferguson.
