Irvine, California (May 12th, 2010) In 2009, Analog teamed up with Jason Bleick, bringing his expertise and knowledge in the denim market to our signature denim collections. This partnership was an easy fit, as Bleick had previously designed for and was friends with Arto and Dylan from his early days in the Action Sports Industry. In 2004 Jason Bleick founded, Ever Clothing. He’s created a globally influential lifestyle brand for men and women with a cult-like following for their denim. Since its debut, Ever has sought to find the best materials available, allowing Bleick to travel the world in search of artisan touches that distinguish each garment.
It is with this friendship and Jason’s denim experience that has led Analog to source, design and revolutionize the denim market for the Actions Sports Industry. The collaboration was a success and Jason has regrouped with the Analog designers for the Fall 2010 denim collections.
Analog’s top priority was upgrading the denim fabrics. With Bleick’s guidance we’ve sourced denim mills in Turkey (this region is known for top quality cotton and fabrics that age well over time). Selecting fabrics in stretch, non-stretch and coated qualities in indigo’s, blacks and grey weaves. All fabrics were selected and then prepped for wash development in Los Angeles, CA.
The wash facilities Analog uses are known for their work in the premium denim market. Jason created the formulas or “recipes” for each finish. We utilized a variety of finishes and treatments; knife coating, resin baking, grinding, sanding, stone and gravel washes, tinting, rinsing and hands-on distressing/ detailing to create the perfect denim look. The next and final step is the overseas sample development in Egypt. (We chose to utilize a facility that specializes in denim production and techniques used in the premium denim market). Jason was with the Analog development team in Egypt to facilitate translation and execution of these new “recipes.” It’s at this process that all the elements come together, applying details to signature denim; seam-construction, thread-count, hardware and quality in cut and sew.
Built for durability and body protection. The Fall 2010 denim collection offers 18 washes and techniques that only a true denim perfectionist could have articulated. We have signature denim from Arto Saari and Dylan Rieder each offered in 4-color washes and a premium style ($65-$130 retail). We are currently continuing to work with Jason Bleick, utilizing the same techniques and pushing the boundaries of development for the Fall 2011 seasons.
“There are many variables in the creative process, seeing a project come together as planned is a great thing but when it exceeds expectations, you know something amazing has happened. Working with Jason and experiencing his expertise and dedication on the craft of denim in Analog’s collection has been unreal. It’s something that has influenced our entire creative process across all categories, and this is only the beginning…” —Joey Jorgensen, Analog Design Director
