July 27, 2010 – Huntington Beach, CA – DC is pleased to announce that more than 20 of its Skate, Motocross, BMX and Rally athletes are headed to Los Angeles, CA this week to compete in Summer X Games 16. These world-class athletes will be competing in more than 14 events over the course of the four-day event.

“Summer X Games is one of biggest action sports events of the year,” said Anton Nistl, DC’s President. “Our athletes train all year for this event and we’re really looking forward to supporting them as they compete.”

DC’s Travis Pastrana is scheduled to compete in five events, the most for any athlete during a single X Games. The 26-year old Motocross and Rally athlete has been training to compete in Moto X Best Trick, Moto X Freestyle, Moto X Speed and Style as well as Rally Car Racing and SuperRally, a new event premiering this year.

Racing against Travis in both Rally events is DC Rally and BMX athlete Dave Mirra, the most decorated X Games medalist in history, and DC Co-Founder and Rally athlete Ken Block who is making his first appearance at X Games driving for Ford on the new Monster World Rally Team.

Other DC athletes set to compete in the various Skate, Moto and BMX disciplines are Danny Way, Nick Dompierre, Chaz Ortiz (Skate), Robbie Maddison, Nate Adams, Adam Jones, and Jolene Van Vugt (Moto), and Daniel Dhers, Corey Bohan, Chris Doyle, Allan Cooke, and Anthony Napolitan (BMX). And don’t be surprised if a few other athletes make surprise appearances.

DC athletes had much success last year at Summer X Games 15 with Danny Way taking a Gold in the first ever Big Air Rail Jam. Dave Mirra, Ricky Carmichael, Nate Adams, and Travis Pastrana also took home medals.
