Press Release:
Carlsbad, Calif. — Bonnier’s TransWorld Media, the world’s leading action-sports media company, is partnering with Apparent Gravity Media (AGM) to produce its first television series, TransWorld Sessions. The 26-episode half-hour series is scheduled to debut this fall.
TransWorld Sessions will explore actions sports’ most popular genres — motocross, skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX and surfing — and showcase top action-sports athletes including James Stewart, Dane Reynolds, Hannah Teter, Brian Deegan, Scotty Lago, Sean Malto, Peter Line, Ryan Dungey, Danny Way, Daewon Song and Andy Irons.
Targeted to the 14- to 34-year-old male audience, TransWorld Sessions brings an up-close view of the stars of action sports as never seen before, following their lives of risk and reward.
“TransWorld videos have always been known for progressive filmmaking and pushing the limits. Sharing that innovation and 23 years of some of the best videos of all time with the rest of the world is just another step in our long legacy,” says Ben Kelley, managing editor of TransWorld SKATEboarding.
Nick Hamilton, TransWorld SNOWboarding’s director of photography and video, adds the snowboarding perspective: “The video content we are producing is some of the finest cutting-edge snowboarding action going, fitting exceptionally well anywhere globally on TV. This new series, TransWorld Sessions, complements our industry-leading print, online and video projects.”
“We are proud and excited to be associated with TransWorld in bringing this terrific, high-quality programming to television,” says George Krieger of Apparent Gravity Media. “TransWorld Sessions brings authenticity and storytelling credibility to series television; the video is simply electric.”
TransWorld Sessions proves that Southern California isn’t the sole the home of actions sports. The series travels to Australia, Mexico, China and throughout Europe, as well as to Alaska, capturing compelling stories and legendary moments.
