Quiksilver Senior Vice President of Marketing Greg Perlot is leaving the company for a new job opportunity.
Greg came from a more formal marketing background and added some structure and practices to the company’s marketing departments while still respecting brand individuality, said Bruce Thomas, Quiksilver VP of Investor Relations.
Thomas described the parting as amicable and said Quiksilver appreciated his efforts and wishes Greg the best of luck in his new job.
Greg didn’t want to go into details about his new position, which he starts March 1, but said it’s in the consumer electronics category.
“It’s all a good transition, (the job) is just something new I wanted to pursue, a new challenge to try,” he said via email. “My time at Quiksilver has been great, it’s tough to leave.
“It started over seven years ago when DC and Quiksilver were clients of my creative agency (72andSunny), and my 3+ years in marketing leadership here has been a blast. The transformation that Bob and Pin (Craig Stevenson) have led these past couple years has really been a privilege to be a part of.
“The direction and talent have never been better and I’ll stay close to all my friends here as I enjoy watching Quiksilver, DC and Roxy kick ass.”
I asked Bruce if Greg’s position will be filled. He said the company is working on Greg’s transition from Quiksilver and is not ready to discuss any next steps for the overall marketing group at this point.
