OC Skateboarding League’s Semi-Finals & Finals June 29th From 6-9pm at The Vans Skateboard Park in Orange

Get ready to watch Orange County’s top middle and high school students battle it out for their schools and individual bragging rights at The OC Skateboarding League’s 1st Annual Semi-Finals & Finals competition.

After a year of more than 150 skaters from age 12-18 representing their schools and participating in tournament style events at Volcom’s outdoor and indoor parks in Costa Mesa, the season cumulates at Vans world-class indoor street course.

San Clemente, Costa Mesa, Newport Harbor, Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley high schools are among the top team contenders coming into the event. Amid the junior high teams, skaters from Ensign, Dwyer, Sowers, and Masuda are forces to be reckoned with. Street and bowl champion titles will be up for contention, with local phenoms Dominick Walker, Sandro Viola, Sarah Thompson, and Donovan Liebelt setting their sights on their ultimate season-long goal.

The future of progressive skateboarding is happening in Orange County with a school recognized and sanctioned league that’s about to cap off its season. The finals are sure to push the limits of each athlete’s abilities with their friends and families cheering them on.

The OC Skateboarding League (OCSL) is a non-profit organization that was founded by Katrina Foley and 11 other board members to give kids in local middle and high schools access to non-traditional sports, and a chance to compete against each other in skateboarding, as they would in a sport like basketball, football or baseball. Other board members include professional skateboarding legend Jim Gray, Volcom Art Director, Marty Jimenez, Volcom CFO Doug Collier, and former Wells Fargo Executive Armando de la Libertad along with a handful of other dedicated volunteers who believe that the sport of skateboarding deserves to be recognized scholastically.

Wednesday, June 29 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The Vans Indoor Skatepark The Block of Orange 20 City Blvd West Orange, CA 92868
