Press Release:

BRIGHT TRADESHOW’s 13th edition is over, and with 15,000 international professionals in attendance, the leading european tradeshow in Streetwear, Sneaker, Fashion and Skateboarding clotured its most successful event to date.

From June 7th to 9th, more than 300 brands showed the best in the upcoming trends in street and boardsports fashion to retailers and trade profesionals who came from more than 56 countries to the infamous Bright location of the House 18 of the former Headquarter of the defunct GDR Ministry of State Security in Berlin Lich- tenberg. Another Season, another fully booked Bright Tradeshow.

All tomorrows.Set as the new fashion platform ALL TOMORROWS is a breakthrough act of this season. The area, focusing on a handpicked selection of new designers and creative labels, pulled a high level of traffic to the area located on the 3rd floor of Bright, and the statement made by the exhibitors reached out far beyond all expectations.

But foremost Bright 13 saw the introduction of BRIGHT FESTIVAL, the only open air, public event of the Berlin Fashion Week. Created to share the Bright Experience with the public and reach out to the capital’s scene, the festival was a major success for both the crowd and the organisers.

After all events and festivities, Bright founders Thomas Martini and Marco Aslim declared themselves overly satisfied, stating that this past edition had outnumbered all of their expectations, setting the bar for all future editions of BRIGHT TRADESHOW.

Following the trend of past seasons, the ratio of international visitors reached 40%, with France representing the largest portion of european visitors, followed by Brits, Italians, Swiss and Austrians. Not to be overlooked is the increasing number of overseas visitors- above all Americans, Japanese and Chinese – proof that BRIGHT TRADESHOW again expanded its opinion leadership beyong the european streetwear fairs to a worldwide level.

The beloved and special BRIGHT athmosphere was guaranteed by a large number of both creative and athletic highlights.

Art Bright

The ART BRIGHT was yet again packed with internati- onal artist and galleries, all of them related to the skate and street art community and presenting an alternativ take of the sport and the industry.

Bright Festival

With its 3 section, Market, Concert and Contest, The BRIGHT FESTIVAL convinced more than one to hang out and enjoy the happening. The BRIGHT MARKET in- vited all friends of BRIGHT to Normannenstraße to just show up and experience urban culture free and live. On friday evening the Californian lo-fi concept riff rock combo Tweak Bird was bringing rock‘n‘roll atmosphere to the Hans Zoschke Arena Skate Plaza.

Skateboarding

The Relentless x BRIGHT Skate Plaza hosted an international level of skateboarding. And with 10,000 Euro prize money, the “Above the Line“ contest saw some of skateboarding’s hottest names compete against each other. When it was all said and done, Flip sponsored pro Luan Oliveira claimed the highest spot, closely followed by Danny Brady and Sylvain Tognelli.

BRIGHT’s Thomas Martini and Marco Aslim are already looking forward to Bright 14 and have already confir- med the dates of January 19th to 21st, 2012. Again in House 18 in Berlin Lichtenberg. And once more with ALL TOMORROWS, a platform that proved to have a promising and BRIGHT future and a concept that one will surely hear a lot about very soon.

BRIGHT 14 and ALL TOMORROWS are going to get back to Normannenstraße with a myriad of awesome meet‘n‘greets, the streetwear of tomorrow, international skateboarding, art and many numbers of rock‘n‘roll.

See you all in January, Your BRIGHT Team.
