Lakewood, CO (July 26, 2011) – A newly revised website for Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month (LSSM) officially launched today with features that make it easy for consumers to find information on how to get involved in skiing and snowboarding.

Built by nxtconcepts.com, the site serves as a key communications tool for the national January initiative that motivates children and adults to learn skiing and/or snowboarding by taking lessons from professional instructors. The URL for the new site is skiandsnowboardmonth.org.

The site offers information and links on learning programs at more than 300 ski areas and resorts. It can locate ski areas/resorts and retail shops via its new search engine element. Skiandsnowboardmonth.org also provides practical information to help consumers have a quality snow sports experience in a variety of languages and will soon include a listing of product suppliers.

“This site helps make it easy for consumers to engage,” said Mary Jo Tarallo, LSSM executive director.

“LSSM is about de-mystifying skiing and snowboarding especially for those who are new to the sport.”

The site is divided into six sections including Where to Go, which lists ski areas/resorts, and retail shops; Learn and Improve offers short articles on how to have a positive snow sports experience; Just for Kids consists of short items and links to kid-oriented sites; News and Information features a wide range of topics from partners and other sources helpful to media; Ambassadors highlights world class athletes and other snow sports enthusiasts who want to share their passion for the sports and Videoscontains a selection of action clips from world class athletes, instructors and celebrities.

New content will be added throughout the fall and winter.

“Skiing and snowboarding have so much to offer those who want to be active outdoors during the winter,” said Tarallo.

“Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month is a springboard for family and friends interested in snow sports.”
