VENICE ART WALK KICKS OFF WITH THE 2ND ANNUAL ‘SURF & SKATE’ AUCTION PRESENTED BY 585 BOARDRIDERS, QUIKSILVER’S NEW CONCEPT STORE, FEATURING CREATIVE ART FOR A GOOD CAUSE DESIGNED BY POPULAR ARTISTS

 

Exhibition And Silent Auction Featuring One-Of-A-Kind Skate Decks By 70+ Artists, Musicians And Athletes, And Custom-Shaped Surf Boards “Tatted” by Local Tattoo Legends

 

LOS ANGELES—Venice Family Clinic announces the 2nd Annual Venice Art Walk Surf & Skate silent auction and opening party, a free community event to kick off its annual fundraiser, transforming Venice California into the preeminent art exhibit—The 34th Annual Venice Art Walk & Auctions.

 

Presented by 585 BOARDRIDERS, Quiksilver’s new concept store, the Surf & Skate Auction is open to the public for one night only on Friday, April 27th from 6 to 10 p.m. Attendees will experience a memorable evening filled with live music, refreshments and meet-and-greets with the some of the art community’s most elite talent.

 

Attendees will also have the chance to bid on one-of-a-kind creations designed from re-used, recycled, and recreated skate decks and custom-shaped and “tatted” surfboards by more than 70 artists, including: Surfboard Shapers Jeffrey Sudzin – Om Surfboards, Dan Cobley – DANC Surfboards, Jose Barahona – Barahona Surfboards; Surfboard Tattoo Artists Charly Reynoso, Big Boy, Juan “Ente” Gollaz, Show, Justin Jakus, Tyoni Aragon – all from Black Diamond Tattoo; Quiksilver Surfboard Artist Kristi McKnight; DC Shoes Skate Designer Mark Winn, and DC Shoes Photographer and Video Producer Tobin Yelland.

 

Other artists designing decks include: Alejandro Gehry, “Block” Cesario Montano, Natalie Arnoldi, and a host of other talented skate deck artists (see attached list).

 

New this year is the Venice Surf & Skate Auction Preview Party at 585 BOARDRIDERS, 585 Venice Blvd. on April 19th from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to hang out with the athletes, artists and shapers and preview their works, which will be featured in the Surf & Skate Auction. There will also be live art, music, refreshments and shopping to benefit Venice Family Clinic. This event is free and open to the public.

 

The Surf & Skate Auction takes place at Track 16, Bergamot Station, 2525 Michigan Avenue, Bldg. C1, Santa Monica.
