Newport Beach, CA — May 2, 2012 —Kaenon, the Southern California-based eyewear brand, will host the fourth annual SUP For A Pup event to benefit A Wish For Animals (AWFA) on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Approximately 25 dogs will be available for adoption on site through AWFA, a local non-profit rescue.
For the fourth year, the event will unite the paddle and dog-loving communities in an effort to raise money to save dogs without homes. In addition to adoption opportunities, sample sales, raffles and giveaways will be held by top lifestyle brands and standup paddle companies Quickblade, Riviera Paddlesurf, OluKai, Hinano Tahiti, Surfline, VMG Sail Shades, Clean Bottle, as well as host company Kaenon.
Previous years have been incredibly successful, with the 2011 event bringing in more than 500 supportive members of the local and surrounding communities to enjoy music, entertainment, good food and great deals.
“Over the past three years we’ve raised thousands of dollars and found homes for many dogs that were on the brink of being put down,” said Chris Wyman, Sports Marketing Director at Kaenon and founder of the event.
“All of this has been possible through the hard work of the crew here at Kaenon, all of the companies that come each year and of course AWFA. We’re hoping this year we will be able to do even more than has been done in past years.”
The family friendly event will also feature food available from Wahoo’s Fish Taco as well as face and body painting for children, making for a perfect weekend outing with the opportunity to make a difference. A portion of all sales and food purchases will be donated to AWFA to support their animal-saving mission.
“The event is essential to our rescue,” said Toni Eakes, founder of AWFA. “We are so grateful for Kaenon and all of the companies and individuals that come out to support us each year.”
SUP For A Pup will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 10am-5pm at Kaenon, located at 864 W. 16th Street, Newport Beach, CA 92663. Admission is free.
