Press Release:

Raising funds for your company – start up, mid-level or even mature – is no easy feat. This Chalk Talk workshop will provide insight, advice and pitfalls to avoid, giving participants an advantage in their fundraising campaign. Join SDSI and hear some of the successful strategies first-hand from executives who have fought the battle(s) and won.

Learn what investors look for when they review a company’s pitch presentation, review business plans and consider an investment. Attendees will also learn about the new JOBS Act and the unique, expanded opportunities it creates for start-up and growth companies in their capital raise.

Following a brief introduction to the presenters, attendees will have the opportunity, through roundtable breakouts, to ask the experts the important questions and learn how to incorporate these strategies into their fundraising efforts.

And of course no SDSI event is complete without networking. Plan to keep the fundraising conversations going over Bull Taco and a cold Sapporo at SKLZ Headquarters.

What you will learn and from who:

How to prepare for investor presentations

John Vance – Former COO, Sanuk Footwear and current Founder and Executive Director, The Warm Water Collective

Speed bumps and lessons learned on the road to raising institutional capital

Michael Brower – CFO, Gunnar Optiks

Triumphs, tribulations and challenges from the road to successfully closing a $450K first round

The 411 on the JOBS Act – additional capital raising opportunities this bill provides for companies
