Press Release:

Season Six of the “Camp Woodward” TV Series to be Produced by New Partner

Woodward, Penn. (August 14, 2012) – Camp Woodward, the original television series, will continue into the sixth season under a new production partnership with Emmy Award-winning Brain Farm Digital Cinema and Camp Woodward, a division of Powdr Corp.

Originally aired on FUEL TV, a cable channel within the Fox Networks Group, Camp Woodward premiered in 2007 and ran for five consecutive seasons. FUEL TV’s move towards older-skewing and mixed martial arts programming opened up a new opportunity for the youth-targeted production as many of the network’s original series were removed from the schedule following the format revamp.

The non-scripted series follows a small cast of young aspiring skateboarders and BMX riders who leave their homes to experience two weeks in a summer camp like no other. The series captured the imagination of audiences around the world as it documented the real lives and stories of young people as they rode alongside both peers and professionals in the ultimate summer sports camp environment.

The production partnership brings together two industry leaders with Woodward on the sports camp and education side and Brain Farm on the action and adventure programming and production side.

“We feel like we have put the team together that can deliver the best season yet of Camp Woodward,” said Camp Woodward President, Gary Ream. “With an amazing new cast of characters, some familiar returning faces, and the addition of Brain Farm to really turn up the production value and storytelling, this is the perfect way to start a new chapter in the life of the Camp Woodward show.”

Brain Farm established itself as the leader in action and adventure programming with commercially successful films such as The Art of Flight, which in 2011 broke worldwide sales records for the genre. Also known for its epic cinematography and production credits, Brain Farm earned an Emmy for its cinematic contributions on National Geographic Channel’s Great Migrations.

“Brain Farm is always drawn towards great entertainment properties that can both showcase its production capabilities and engage audiences through great stories and characters. The Camp Woodward experience fits that model seamlessly.” says Curt Morgan, Founder and CEO of Brain Farm Digital Cinema.

The creative direction of the series will expand into broader territory as it focuses on the universal themes and archetypes that make the summer camp story so timeless and entertaining. The target audience for the series is children ages 7-15.

“There’s no show quite like it for young viewers. There’s a glut of animation and scripted programming but virtually no quality reality television for this audience. It’s a tough nut to crack and Camp Woodward does it authentically with relatable characters and stories against the backdrop of the most dynamic summer camp experience imaginable” explains Shon Tomlin, executive producer and EVP of television for Brain Farm.

With broadcast and digital rights now freed up, Camp Woodward is exploring its options for a new television home. Brain Farm and the Camp Woodward series are represented by William Morris Endeavor in Los Angeles.
