Sanuk Surfing Team Expands with California Native Kilian Garland
Underground Ripper from the Central Coast Adds Experience and Style to Sanuk Surf Team
August 22, 2012, Irvine, CA – Sanuk, a division of Deckers Outdoor Corporation (NASDAQGS: DECK), is thrilled to announce the addition of Kilian Garland to its fast growing surf team.
Garland burst on the surf scene in 1998 when he won the NSSA National Championships. The next few years brought more titles before he decided to take a couple years off from competing to travel and enjoy his local Santa Barbara beaches.
Garland has been featured in a variety of magazines including TransWorld Surf, Surfing Magazine, and Surfer’s Journal, and recently wrapped his role as the stunt double for Jay Moriarty in the upcoming movie Chasing Mavericks. Garland also likes to spend his time camping, attending music concerts, and shaping wood surfboards.
“I have known Kilian since he was a grom,” explained James Crush, Marketing Manager, Sanuk. “I truly believe he is one of the best surfers in the Central Cal area, and I look forward to seeing big things from our partnership in the near future.”
