Press Release:
B4BC Launches 2012 Check One, Two™ Campus Tour Presented by The North Face for National Breast Cancer Prevention Month
25-Stop Campus Tour Travels Throughout Northeastern U.S. and California
Los Angeles, Calif. (Oct. 8, 2012) – B4BC (Boarding for Breast Cancer) is proud to bring back the Third Annual Check One, Two Campus Tour from Oct. 4 – Nov. 7 to kick off Breast Cancer Prevention Month this October.
Made possible by The North Face, and supported by Nixon, the tour will make stops at 25 campuses throughout the state of California and the Northeast, with additional appearances planned at local shops, skate parks, surf breaks and music venues, providing early detection and preventative health information to a young audience.
“The strength of The North Face brand and retail partner program through the Pink Ribbon Collection has exceeded all expectations and we couldn’t be happier,” said Erika Seward, executive director, B4BC.
“B4BC is excited to enhance our core focus of education and realize new programs including expansion of the Campus Tour, greater distribution of health literature and content, a website refresh, and even stronger commitment to the survivor community through the B4BC Survivorship Fund.”
Within the past 2 years, The North Face has contributed nearly $365,000 to B4BC through The North Face Pink Ribbon Collection products, now available at Dick’s Sporting Goods Stores and other retail partner locations. Donations have reinvigorated B4BC, the Campus Tour program activation and future programs to be announced.
“B4BC is an athlete-driven organization that The North Face athletes have also participated in,” said Aaron Carpenter, Vice President of Marketing, The North Face. ”We are pleased to support this cause.”
In addition to early detection and education, B4BC Survivorship Fund has connected breast cancer survivors with retreat and wellness experiences in Long Island, NY, Beaver Creek, Colo. and Encinitas, Calif. Additionally, B4BC provided a grant of $25,000 for The Breast Cancer Fund’s 2012 Climb Against the Odds, outfitting the team of climbers with The North Face gear.
B4BC has also led a website launch with educational content initiatives, educating thousands of people annually.
