Bill sent this update late Wednesday night:

“Dear Tiff. We were extremely lucky at all store locations with no damage except for minor roof leaks and fences down.

We did however lose the home that we grew up in that we still owned and rented on the beach in Mantoloking.

The house was completely swept away without any trace when the ocean broke through and met the bay creating an inlet.

Damage all along the shore from Point Pleasant to Seaside Heights was surreal. People are still trapped on second floors and in attics. Homes are burning from gas leaks. Any and all help needs to come by limited rescue boats.

I have no idea how this will impact immediate business but feel that people will have many more pressing concerns than shopping.

I am hoping that repairs can be made in time for NEXT year’s tourist season but feel that it may be two years before things are back to normal.”

Jetty creates hurricane relief T-shirt

Jetty owner Cory Higgins, who lives above the Farias Surf Shop in Jersey, has created a T-shirt to help raise money to support relief efforts.

Details on how to buy the shirt and what the money goes to are in this flyer below.
