Quiksilver is bringing on a retail heavy hitter to oversee its Americas retail fleet and ecommerce operation.
Â
Former Disney executive Steve Finney joins the company tomorrow as SVP and GM of Consumer Direct, Quiksilver Americas President Rob Colby told me today.
Â
At Disney, where he worked from 1991 to 2012, Finney was SVP of Global Business Development. He managed 375 stores and Disney ecommerce in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Japan, overseeing $1.3 billion in business, Rob said.
Â
Finney has been consulting with Quiksilver for the past several months. In his new position, he will report to Rob.
Â
Paul McAdam, the former SVP and GM of Retail who has been with Quiksilver for about a year, has resigned, effective today. McAdam previously worked with AllSaints North America and served as president of Ben Sherman North America.
Â
Nicholas Nathanson, who ran Quiksilver’s ecommerce business in North America, has chosen to leave the company and relocate to Brazil.
Â
I asked Rob for an update on Quiksilver’s Americas store fleet, since I know there have been some closures and changes.
Â
He said that Quiksilver currently has 80 company stores in the U.S. and Canada, and 20 in Mexico. In addition, there are 60 licensed stores in the Americas region, and two stores in Brazil.
Â
In the next year, the company plans to open another 10 stores, and will likely close 10 others.
Â
New Quiksilver CEO Andy Mooney, who previously held top executive positions at Disney and Nike, has been restructuring the company since he arrived in January.
Â
Other new executives that have joined Quiksilver during Mooney’s tenure include former Nike executive Tom Hartge, now Global Head of Footwear for Quiksilver, Roxy and DC, and Kasey Mazzone, formerly of Lands’ End, is now the Global Head of Supply Chain.
Â
Quiksilver’s long time European leader, Pierre Agnes, has taken on additional duties as the Global Head of Apparel.
Â
Mooney is searching for a new Chief Marketing Officer.
