Since July of 2012, Longboarding for Peace has launched a number of initiatives. These include working with Arab and Israeli children at the Peres Center for Peace, community outreach in Houston and after school programs in Houston. We also worked with First Nations youth in Ahousaht, British Columbia and provided food for needy families in Peru.
Just recently Carver Skateboards worked with the Los Angeles Police Department in a Guns-for-Longboards exchange. In May, our very own Humble Hippie drove out to Oklahoma and delivered 35 complete longboards to help a community in need.
Earlier this month, Longboarding for Peace reached out to Board Rescue. Board Rescue is a non-profit public benefit corporation and is dedicated to providing skateboards and safety equipment to organizations that work with underprivileged and/or at-risk children in the USA. Since beginning operations in 2008, Board Rescue has helped 1000’s of children experience skateboarding.
Together, Board Rescue and Longboarding for Peace will work with on initiatives to get longboards into the hands of organizations in the United States working towards peace.
Board Rescue is a 501(c)(3) Tax-exempt non-profit organization and this means that any product donated to them will result in a tax deductible receipt.
