Vans celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Vans Snow last Thursday at the House of Vans in Brooklyn. Joined by more than 400 friends and fans, the Vans Snow team hosted an intimate evening in honor of Vans’ 20 years of iconic snowboarding heritage. The anniversary celebration transformed the House of Vans into a striking visual homage to Vans Snow, featuring a gallery of original artwork from Vans Snow team riders, athlete back drops and unique wood installations showcasing the Vans 2014 snowboard boot collection. The festivities were highlighted by a first time musical set by Vans team riders Jamie Lynn and Zac Marben, followed by a lively performance by garage rock band King Tuff.
A special screening of the Vans Snow retrospective film, “Twenty Years: Off the Wall, On the Snow,” swept the crowd with emotion, including the Vans Snow team, most of whom were seeing the film for the first time. “It was a true honor to celebrate Vans’ 20 years in snow with our talented team, media partners and retailers all together under one roof. The House of Vans was packed with some the world’s best snowboard athletes, individuals and enthusiasts – it was the perfect glimpse into what the future holds for Vans snow,” said Kevin Casillo, Vans Snow Marketing Manager. While rubbing elbows with snowboarding icons Jamie Lynn and Mark Landvik, guests embraced the chilly autumn air with sips of Ole Smoky Moonshine and Genesee, closing out the night with a toast to 20 more years on the mountain.

Shaped by Vans’ renowned heritage as the original action sports footwear brand since 1966, Vans Snow cements it legacy in snowboarding with 20 years of iconic heritage dedicated to being “Off the Wall” and on the snow.
While paying tribute to a historic milestone in Vans’ approach to performance, innovation and design, Vans Snow anticipates an exciting season ahead, bringing forth a brand new offering of technical boots and accessories and kicking off the launch of the “Mountain Edition” collection, a functional, streetwear-inspired hybrid apparel line. The 2014 collection will include an exclusive 20th Anniversary capsule, complete with a V-66 boot, jacket and socks. Later this fall, Vans will also release, “Twenty Years: Off the Wall, On the Snow”, a definitive retrospective film on Vans Snow by respected snowboarding filmmaker Mike Hatchett of Standard Films.
