Longtime Quiksilver marketing executive Greg Macias has left the company after 25 years.
Greg started at Quiksilver right out of college in account receivables. He was looking for a job that had regular hours and allowed him to study for the LSAT.
He ended up falling in love with the industry and with Quiksilver, and put plans for law school aside.
Greg moved on to run the customer service department, and eventually ended up in the marketing department, first in retail marketing and then ran Quiksilver brand marketing in the Americas from 2001 to 2008.
After that, he moved into a role as VP of Marketing Shared Services. Greg is a very involved in SIMA, and currently serves as vice president of the organization.
“I’m super proud of my association with Quiksilver, and am excited about the future,” Greg told Shop-eat-surf. “I love the industry, and am actively talking to some great companies. There is still a lot of opportunity out there, and I hope to apply what I have experienced and what I think I know with a new company in the future.”
