Quiksilver announced Monday that it has sold its Hawk business to a subsidiary of Cherokee for $19 million.
For several years, the Hawk brand has had a direct to retail agreement with Kohl’s.
Quiksilver will use the proceeds to pay down debt and invest in emerging markets.
Under the strategy of CEO Andy Mooney, Quiksilver is selling or shuttering businesses that are outside its main mission.
The company has sold Mervin Manufacturing, and shut VSTR and Quiksilver Women’s. Still on the list to be disposed of is the company’s majority stake in Surfdome Shop, its Moskova brand, and its business under license with Maui and Sons.
