Carlsbad, CA (February 4, 2014) – There aren’t many surfers that can jump into any lineup and charge the way that Nic von Rupp can. Hailed as one of the best tuberiders and performance surfers to ever come out of Europe, Nic brings both a fearless and competitive approach in all wave conditions. Dragon Alliance is proud to announce Nic von Rupp as a new member of its family of athletes.

Nic, who is of German-descent and was born and raised in Portugal, is no stranger to the global surf scene. Shortly after finishing school, Nic went on a terror chasing down huge swells and a string of successful contest results. After a big win at the 2013 Pawa Tube Fest in Mexico, Nic has shown no signs of slowing down. Already in 2014, Nic has nabbed a few magazine covers, global media exposure and some of the larger set waves in both Hawaii and Europe.

Nic will continue his 2014 campaign wearing Dragon’s new line of floatable sunglasses, which launched in 2013. Joining the Dragon family, Nic will be part of one of the most elite surf teams in the world, consisting of current World Champion Mick Fanning and World Tour standouts Owen Wright and Ace Buchan, along with surf icons Shane Dorian and Rob Machado. Â
